Warrior Dash July 16, 2011

Eric and I ran in the Warrior Dash. It is a 5 k race with 11 obstacles located in North Bend WA we ran at 1130 so we left at 9 am from the hotel. We were going to stop and do some shopping but felt like we needed to head to the run. Good thing we did because the traffic was horrible. We never would have made it if we left any later. During the drive I got an text from my parents of Emily pretending to talk on the phone. It said "Hello mommy are you muddy yet I miss you." I loved it. We arrived at a parking lot that was a field. The people that were allowing us to park had to have made $50,000 easily charging $10.00 a car. We then got on a bus and were drove to a different location. We met up with Jeff and Bree Muai. They were running at the same time we were. We started at 1130 and it went well. The hardest obstacle was the rope wall. I accomplished it though. Every time I got tired of running we came upon an obstacle. I ended up getting a shoe stuck in the mud and then getting very muddy at the end. I almost didn’t complete an obstacle because you had to walk a thin plank and it was raining and slippery. I stepped down to pass and then I decided to try again. I was happy I did. Eric coached me and then it was easy. At the finish line a girl and I dove across the finish line. I was extremely muddy. My hair, my face and everywhere else. It was so much fun though I will be running it again. After that we were washed off by a hose truck and then we headed home. We received a medallion , shirt and Viking hat. We also had a warrior bus driver on the way back. Thank goodness or we would have been in traffic for 30 minutes.
