Halloween Weekend 10-30-10

This year for us Halloween we basically celebrated on Saturday since it fell on a Sunday which suprisingly worked well for our boys. Saturday our Ward Young Women, Young Men and Primary put on a Halloween Carnival and Trunk or Treat for the kids. I was over the Haunted House. Which was more difficult to put together than expected. I was at the church that afternoon setting up at two and I had already been there from 12-1 with the kids. Everyone else arrived to help set up at 4 p.m. and they activity started at 5 pm. They boys went around with Grandma and Aunt Sara for a while so I could make sure that everything was set up and organzied for the Haunted House. Then I took them around. Emily was such a good girl and eventually fell asleep. Many people thought I made her costume, which I didn't and other's thought she was a ram and not princess Leia. Then afterwards we went trick or treating in the parking lot of the members trunks. Emily stayed with a friend while I took the boys, (Eric had to work). They went so fast I think we were done in 10 minutes. Then today when Riley and Rose went trick or treating I told them we went last night. They were fine with that. They were excited to hand out candy. I think they were more excited to hand out the candy then they were over trick or treating. All in all it was a good Halloween.

Ben was originally suppose to be a storm trooper but he said his costume is too big and he wants to save it for next year. So he was spiderman from last year the costume was super snagged and had holes in it. But I would rather have a happy, boy with holes in his costume, than a sad boy in a costume he doesn't want to wear.

The Cupcake walk!

Grandma Jill, Riley and Emily.

My little princess leia that many people thought was a ram. But I can see how they would think that.

A Froggie!

A Spidie!

She actually sat still for most of the painting.

Fishing.

They had a lot of fun with the donut on the string. Sadly enough mom was so busy setting up for the haunted house I think the donut was dinner.

Bean Bag Toss!

Bean Bag Toss!

They were obsessed with this games, and they weren't even giving out prizes. It was a ball of velcro that you toss onto a board and it sticks.

My beautiful Halloween Trio!

October 23 2010 Kooky Kaper Race.

Today was a fun day. It was also the first race for Ben and Joey. The boys ran the Kooky Caper Kid's Race Age 4 and under. Their Cousin Riley also ran with them too. Eric said about 30 kids were at the starting line and Ben came in first, Joey came in a little bit later, and Riley followed up the rear. It was so adorable. We were suprised that Ben had one. He got a trophy and Joey and Riley got ribbons. We also got Ben and Joey shirts which are a little big but they are excited. Eric and I along with our neice Rose did the 5k race. It was awesome for me to actually finish. Very proud 3.1 miles without walking once (which is huge for me). Then afterwards we went to McDonalds, followed by a free event at Toys R Us. The boys were given legos that they could build a race car, then they could race it and keep it. Joey had the most fun, Ben wasn't as excited because he wanted a different toy altoghether. I think it was a great day.

2010 Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Once again we attend teh corn maze and pumpkin patch in Pasco. Grandma and Grandpa decided to treat me and the grandbabies, Eric was working graves. It was a fun except for the fact that they told us everything was free and got inside and it wasn't. (Like the ride in the barrel animals, and a bounce house not shown) Silly stuff that we don't mind paying for (I should say grandparents) but the fact that we were told it was included. So the boys loved the little hay maze. They liked it that mommy kept getting lost in it. The decided to slide down the slide together, although it appears Joey was getting squished. Emily had fun too except for the fact that she drooled so much it made her hands and face really cold. We went into the pumpkin patch, this was a first time for the boys and Ben was excited to see white pumpkins as well as DIRT. So we got some pumpkins, and some nice boys, and grandpa carried them for me. We then attempted the corn maze, however, it started to get dark and I wanted to get out before it got dark. Grandpa was all about mapping it out on a piece of paper. Towards the end I told him we needed to get out and he said o.k. follow me I will get you out. So we get all the way back over by the beginning and I see the guys that led us in. I said can you give us a hint, they said "You are so cold you are making me cold." Next thing we knew we were exiting out the entrance. Grandpa said "See I told you I would get you out." The kid at the entrance said "Too bad this is the beginning." We all laughed. Maybe grandpa knew it was the beginning and maybe he didn't. I guess we will never know. It was a lot of fun though.

Grandpa Pat even made it to the top too.

I was trying to cheat for when we went in the corn maze, didn't work.

Ben wanted me to take a picture of him climbing up the pyramid.

You can't really tell, but they both went down together.

Ben

Joey

Emily

This was the boys first time acutally in the pumpkin patch and Ben was excited to play with the dirt, go figure :)

Joey was nervous that the pumpkins were going to fall.

Don't worry it is a nebulizer for asthma :)

Emily Cinderella Pageant October 9, 2010

Emily and I did the Cinderella Pageant in Elko, NV. We don't really have the Cindy pageant in Washington so we decided to do Elko with Summer and her girls. It was so much fun for me. (Yes this pageant was for me) We started out with playtime and my little girl couldn't do much sitting so I held her a lot. She competed against her 8 month old cousin Isabell and a little 7 week old baby. They then proceeded to get in their dresses and go on stage. All the mommy's introduced the babies and then the MC tells about the children. Well I forgot to add Eric's name to the list so evidently Emily is the daughter of Kristina Edwards, (sorry sweetheart I guess you helped somewhere along the way.) When I was holding Emily and talking in the microphone she grabbed the microphone and started sucking on it. So adorable!!! Then we all went on stage in one big group (Grandma Penny has more picture, I am sure I can get them) Then they called up the girls in accordance with the crown they one. Emily won Infant Personality and in the Optionals she took Best Partywear. For the optionals she received a medal and for Personality she won a trophy, crown, and banner. Isabel took overall and Guinevere I believe also took Personality but I might be incorrect on that. Overall it was a fun event for mom.
