Joseph Jog a thon, General Conference,Out door movies, Sacajewea

It has been a little over a month since I have written in my blog. We have done a couple of things. General Conference came around again and we were excited to be able to continue our tradition. We watched the Saturday and Sunday sessions. When dad went to the priesthood session on Saturday night we had some friends over to hang out.
We went to Sacajewea days on Saturday and it was such a disappointment compared to past years. Very few vendors and no one wanted to talk with us.  It wasn’t even that bad of weather either.
Joseph had spirit week the week of October 7th and he has had fun. One day he even had crazy hair day and we sprayed it green.  He did his first jog a thon and finished with 15 laps. He had a really hard time. He didn’t want to run because he doesn’t like to run. Plus he has been fighting an upper respiratory infection. He ran his first lap, walked over and collapsed in front of everyone and said “I’m done.” It was funny and I had to inform him he had an hour still to run. In the end he ended up running a little over 5 miles. They even let Ben run with him. Mom and Emily ran a couple of times with him too.
We grew our own garden of pumpkins this year. The kids have been very excited and they were so excited to paint and carve pumpkins.
At the end of the year we tried our own outdoor movies.
Isaac loves little einsteins and I have a video of him saying rocket. The funny thing is when he watches the video the entire time he says, rocket, rocket, rocket. I have to get that on video too.

First Day of School, and Joseph 6th Birthday September 2013

This past couple of weeks have been busy for our family. Joseph and Ben both started school. Joseph started kindergarten at the school down the street. Ben will continue to be home schooled for 2nd grade but we are partnering with a school so we only have to teach him Math, PE and Language Arts. He will be taking Science, Art, Geography, Piano and Children's Theater from the other school.  They both have enjoyed going.
Joseph also celebrated his 6th birthday. He woke up bright and early and found a mining mountain and hobbit house with presents inside.  He watched his video on the news and danced around to some birthday music. He had his #6 pancake and then he went to school. He took popcorn that he made for his class to celebrate his special day. He had fun at school and got a crown and sticker he wouldn't take off. We picked him up from school and surprised him with Olive Garden. Now Joseph was given the choice early on between Olive Garden or a birthday party with his friends. Every week I asked him if he had changed his mind. He chose Olive Garden. We arrived and he was so excited he screamed "this is the best birthday ever." They sang happy birthday to him with other tables joining us as well. Then we went to toys r us where he got a balloon, announcement and picked out a toy with the money he received from Great Grandma Rosie, Great Grandpa Mel and Uncle Travis.  Then he went home. He hadn't see his cake yet but had told me how he wanted it decorated. He wasn't sure if he was going to get it because the toy on the cake was his main present from mom and dad. Little did he know dad spent an hour and a half putting it together in the dark holding a flashlight under his chin because the power had gone out.  He was very excited. We ended the day with a roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, and movie night "Hobbit". He had a good day. We are so happy to have Joseph in our life.

The kids went to a friend popcorn party. Ben was so excited he came home and was selling us popcorn. Isn't it the cutest idea ever!
